Prince William discusses the loss of family dog Lupo
The Prince of Wales recently shared a heartfelt moment with Hollywood actor Eugene Levy, during a tour of the private gardens at Windsor Castle. The two were joined by the Prince’s pet Cocker Spaniel, Orla, in a scene from Eugene’s Apple TV+ series, The Reluctant Traveler. As Eugene offered a dog treat to Orla, Prince William noted how much she was enjoying it, joking about her expression of “please feed me.” The interaction was adorable and heartwarming.
During their walk, Prince William spoke about their previous dog, Lupo, an English Cocker Spaniel who sadly passed away in November 2020. He shared with Eugene that Orla is actually the niece of Lupo, making her a special part of their family. The Prince mentioned how they were all there when Lupo passed, emphasizing the sadness of the moment.
Lupo had been a cherished member of the Wales family for nine years, as William and Kate welcomed their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during Lupo’s time with them. The couple announced Lupo’s passing on Instagram, expressing how much he meant to their family and how deeply he would be missed.
Orla, the new addition to the family, joined them in January 2021. Her name was revealed in Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday portraits in May 2022. Orla recently gave birth to a litter of puppies, bringing joy to her royal owners. William was even pictured with three of the pups to mark his 43rd birthday in June.
The bond between the royals and their furry friends is evident, showcasing the important role that pets play in their lives. Despite the loss of Lupo, Orla and her puppies continue to bring happiness to the family, creating new memories and moments of joy.
