HBO Max Price Increase in Europe: What You Need to Know

In Spain, starting on October 23rd, prices for HBO Max will go up about 10%. The standard ad-free plan will cost €10.99 per month, up from €9.99, and annual subscriptions will increase from €99 to €109. The ad-supported tier will be €6.99, and the premium 4K tier will jump to €15.99. Customers who enjoy a 50% discount “for-life” will still get to keep that discount, even with the new rates. Additionally, account-sharing rules will become more strict around the same time.

Max in the Netherlands will see a price hike on November 6th, with the premium tier going from €14 to €17 per month, and the standard plan rising from €10 to €12. Annual subscriptions will now be around €119, up from €99.90. Existing discounts will stay in place, but they will be recalculated based on the new base prices.

In Poland, new pricing was introduced earlier this year. The Basic with Ads plan is now PLN 30 (about €6.90), the Standard plan is PLN 40, and the Premium plan is PLN 50.

Warner Bros. Discovery is considering more adjustments to pricing as they launch the rebranded Max service in more European countries next year. This move brings HBO Max more in line with other streaming services that have recently increased their prices in Europe due to rising production and rights costs.
