“Law & Order: SVU Alternate Endings Across Platforms: What You Missed”

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit recently aired its second episode of season 27 with two different endings, depending on whether you watched it on NBC or Peacock. On NBC, the episode ended with Terry Bruno informing Olivia Benson that Elliot Stabler was in the hospital, while on Peacock, the ending showed Jake Griffin meeting with Chief Kathryn Tynan. Both endings feature Griffin promising he wouldn’t go behind Benson’s back, only to do so immediately after in different ways.

The Peacock version has Griffin encountering Chief Tynan after speaking to a mysterious driver named John, whereas NBC’s ending skips this part and goes straight to Bruno’s urgent news about Stabler being in the hospital. The reason for this discrepancy seems to be related to connecting SVU with Law & Order: Organized Crime, as NBC wanted to bridge the gap between the two shows airing back-to-back. This strategy allows for a seamless transition for viewers who watched both shows on the same night, with SVU season 27 and Organized Crime season 5 running concurrently on NBC’s timeline.
