Streaming Ratings: Debut of ‘The Paper’ and ‘NCIS: Tony and Ziva’ on Charts
This week, we’ve got some exciting news from the world of streaming entertainment! A couple of brand-new series have made their mark on the streaming charts in a big way.
First up, we have “NCIS: Tony and Ziva” and “The Paper,” which debuted with a bang on Paramount+ and Peacock, respectively. These shows, which are spinoffs of long-time network favorites, pulled in an impressive 371 million and 342 million viewing minutes, landing them in the eighth and tenth spots for original streaming series during the week of Sept. 1-7. Fans of the original NCIS and The Office may find these new series to be right up their alley, as they pay homage to their beloved parent shows.
Speaking of streaming hits, “Wednesday” reclaimed the top overall ranking with the release of its final four episodes of season two, pulling in a whopping 3.34 billion minutes of watch time. This marks the third best weekly total of 2025, trailing closely behind the show’s own season premiere earlier in the year. While “Squid Game” still holds the record for the best weekly total of the year with 4.6 billion minutes in early January, “Wednesday” is definitely holding its own in the rankings.
On the charts, we also saw some familiar faces, like “KPop Demon Hunters,” which held strong in the top rankings but slipped to fourth place overall with 1.09 billion viewing minutes. Rounding out the top spots were “My Life With the Walter Boys” with 1.13 billion minutes and the documentary “Unknown Number: The High School Catfish” with 1.1 billion minutes. And let’s not forget about “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” which hit a new peak of 736 million viewing minutes on Prime Video as it gears up for its season three debut.
