Disney+ reveals redesigned app for Google TV with integrated Hulu worldwide [Gallery]
Disney has made it official – Hulu is going global as part of the new Disney+ app, arriving on Google TV and other platforms early next year.
The change means that starting on October 8, Hulu will replace Star as Disney’s global brand for “General Entertainment” outside of the core Disney brand. The new app is expected to launch next year.
According to Disney, users will start seeing further integrations of Hulu across the Disney+ app in the coming weeks, with design and navigation enhancements to provide a more dynamic and intuitive experience. The updated app will feature a new navigation layout with tabs like “For You,” Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, along with a fixed navigation bar for search, settings, watchlists, and more.
Disney also plans to introduce new “mobile-first and mobile-exclusive experiences” along with widgets on iOS.
This update will roll out to platforms like Google TV next year. Disney is also hinting at new features to come, such as badges for content like “New Movie” or “Season Finale.”
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting revamp of the Disney+ app.
