Apple TV+ extends exclusive streaming deal for ‘Peanuts’

Apple TV+ just announced a five-year extension as the exclusive home for all things “Peanuts” until 2030. This deal includes the classic “Peanuts” library and new original series and specials. In 2020, Apple TV+ secured the exclusive rights to the “Peanuts” catalog, which includes favorites like “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

For those who aren’t subscribers, Apple TV+ will be offering the chance to stream some beloved classics for free, including “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on specific dates. The head of children’s programming at Apple TV+, Tara Sorensen, expressed excitement about making these iconic specials available to everyone.

There’s a growing collection of “Peanuts” content on the streaming platform, including shorts like “Snoopy in Space” and “The Snoopy Show.” And for fans of musicals, the first “Peanuts” musical in 35 years, “Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical,” is also available.

Since its debut in 1950, “Peanuts” has captivated audiences worldwide with the adventures of Charlie Brown and his friends. The timeless stories have appeared in newspapers in over 75 countries, reaching millions of readers.
