Disney+ Price Increase and New Content for October 2025

Disney+ is making some changes that might affect your streaming habits. Starting October 21, 2025, subscription prices in the U.S. will be going up. The ad-supported plan will increase from $9.99 to $11.99 per month, while the ad-free Premium plan will rise from $15.99 to $18.99 monthly (the annual Premium subscription will go up by $30 to $189.99 per year).

If you’re on a bundle plan with Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or others, those prices will also be on the rise.

Existing customers will see these price adjustments reflected at the beginning of their next billing cycle on or after October 21.

Disney says these price hikes are necessary to invest in more original content, make platform improvements, and maintain the sustainability of their streaming services. After experiencing losses for multiple years, Disney’s streaming division is now profitable.

It’s understandable that this news might not sit well with everyone, especially after Disney faced criticism for temporarily removing Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. The timing of the price increase, coming as Disney tries to repair its public image, may seem less than ideal.

For current subscribers, it might be a good time to reevaluate your plan. Make sure the value you’re getting is still worth the new cost. If you’re on a bundle, consider whether the increase in overall price is still justified. Keep an eye on your renewal date, as the price change will kick in after October 21.

Disney is promising more high-quality exclusive content with this increase in revenue. But it also might be worth comparing Disney+ to other streaming platforms to see if they now offer better value for your money.
