Paramount+ Renews Espionage Thriller Lioness for Season 3

Paramount+ has exciting news for fans of Taylor Sheridan’s thrilling espionage drama, Lioness – the show has been officially renewed for a much-anticipated third season! This renewal announcement comes after a bit of a wait, with the previous season wrapping up almost 10 months ago. Season 3 will mark the longest gap yet between seasons for Lioness, which had previously released Seasons 1 and 2 in fairly quick succession.

The brainchild of Taylor Sheridan, and co-produced by 101 Studios and Paramount TV Studios, Lioness features the talented Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman in leading roles. While Saldaña was on board for three seasons right from the start, Kidman’s return for Season 3 required some new negotiations, which contributed to the delay in the renewal process.

During this break between seasons, both Saldaña and Kidman have been making waves in the entertainment world. Saldaña recently added an Oscar to her trophy case for her role in Emilia Pérez, while Kidman snagged a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Lioness Season 2.

So, what can viewers expect from Season 3 of Lioness? Production is set to kick off in October at the brand-new Fort Worth campus in Texas’ AllianceTexas development, a collaborative effort between SGS Studios, Sheridan, Paramount Television, and Hillwood. This season will be one of four Sheridan projects filming on the lot this year, joining Landman Season 2 and The Madison Season 2.

In the previous season, the show took a closer look at the CIA’s battle against terror on home soil, with characters Joe, Kaitlyn, and Byron enlisting a new Lioness operative to tackle a hidden domestic threat. As tensions rose, Joe found himself faced with the harsh personal sacrifices that come with leading the charge.

The talented ensemble cast of Season 2 included Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.
