Florida Man Kills and Eats Pet Peacocks to Make a Point, Officials Report

A man in Hudson, Florida, was recently arrested for aggravated animal cruelty after admitting to killing two of his pet peacocks during a dispute with his neighbor. The conflict arose over the feeding of the peacocks, with the owner, Craig Vogt, reportedly leaving a letter in his neighbor’s mailbox stating that he killed the birds because they were being fed.

According to the police report, Vogt confessed to using a knife to slash the peacocks’ necks and then cooking them in a frying pan. As Vogt was being taken into custody, he expressed his intention to kill the rest of his peacocks to prevent anyone else from taking them.
