Wonder Man’s Strong First Reaction: Best Marvel Show

Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man is already gaining attention behind the scenes, with early reactions suggesting it could be one of Marvel’s top Disney+ projects yet. This series is set to be the third and final live-action MCU show for 2025, following Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 and Ironheart. With Marvel focusing more on quality over quantity in terms of their television lineup, Wonder Man has the opportunity to wrap up the year on a high note.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, who shared the news on his Discord channel, there’s a bit of early buzz around Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man. Apparently, those who have already had a sneak peek at the show are calling it “the best Marvel show.” While this is obviously exciting feedback, it’s important to remember that these are just early whispers and it’s best to wait for official reactions closer to the release date.

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, Wonder Man stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and is due to premiere on Disney+ in December. Based on the Marvel Comics character, Wonder Man will follow Simon Williams, a Hollywood actor and stuntman who unexpectedly gains superpowers and turns into the superhero Wonder Man.

The upcoming series is shaping up to have an impressive lineup, with the addition of Ed Harris playing Hollywood agent Neal Saroyan. In the comics, Saroyan is a significant player in the film industry with mind-control abilities, which suggests there could be some intense conflicts brewing in the series. Moreover, the return of Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery adds another layer of familiarity to the show.

With Yahya Abdul-Mateen II at the forefront, along with the supporting performances from Demetrius Grosse and Arian Moayed, Wonder Man promises an exploration of the clash between Hollywood fame and the life of a superhero. While there’s a lot of hype around the show potentially being the best Marvel series ever, the competition is fierce. Marvel’s series like Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Hawkeye, WandaVision, Loki, and other fan favorites have set a high standard. Wonder Man might be the next big hit, but it will undoubtedly have some tough acts to follow.
