Emmy-nominated comedian and acclaimed roaster Jeff Ross is bringing his one-man show, Take a Banana for the Ride, to your Netflix queue. The announcement was made by Deadline, disclosing that the production will be recorded twice on September 27 for a later release date.
The show premiered on Broadway on August 18, following its initial debut at the Nederlander Theatre on August 5. Audiences can catch performances until September 29th.
Directed by Stephen Kessler, with creative input from Jeff Calhoun and dramaturgy by Seth Barrish, Take a Banana for the Ride provides a peek into Ross’s life as America’s Roastmaster General.
In his own words, Ross shared his excitement and honor at the chance to showcase his story on the stage, following in the footsteps of a childhood visit to see Jackie Mason. He teased that the show will provide a mix of uncensored humor, stories, songs, and live roasting.
Produced by a team including Eric and Robert Nederlander, Marc Cornstein, and Tony Eisenberg, with ShowTown Productions on board as executive producer, this promises to be a show to remember.
