Disney+ Increases Prices Again: What You Need to Know
Disney+ is making headlines once again with news of yet another price increase. Starting October 21, the popular streaming service will be upping its prices in the US. The standard plan will now cost $12 per month, while the premium 4K plan will be $19 per month. This marks a steady climb from the initial launch price of $7 per month back in 2019.
This isn’t the first time Disney+ has raised its prices. Previous increases occurred in October 2024, October 2023, and December 2022. The latest hike comes amidst some controversy, including Disney’s suspension of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
In addition to Disney+, other streaming services have also been bumping up their prices. Netflix recently raised its rates in January 2025 to $8 per month with ads or $18 per month without ads. And it seems like this trend may continue, as the CEO of HBO Max hinted that their service might be underpriced too.
So, if you’re a Disney+ subscriber, get ready to pay a little extra starting next month. Keep an eye out for similar price increases in other countries as well. It looks like streaming entertainment is getting pricier across the board.
