Disney+ Price Increases Confirmed
Disney has announced some changes for its streaming services, and it’s not all good news for our wallets. Starting October 21, prices will be going up for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundles. For those of us who enjoy Disney+ with ads, get ready to pay $11.99 instead of the current $9.99 per month. If you prefer the ad-free premium version, that will be $18.99 instead of $15.99 each month. And for our friends across the pond in the UK, the annual subscription will increase to £99.90.
Hulu’s ad-supported plan is also seeing a price hike, going from $9.99 to $11.99 per month. If you’ve got a bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN, you can expect some adjustments there as well. This is actually the third time in three years that Disney has raised prices for its US streaming services, following hikes in October 2024 and 2023.
All this price talk comes at a time of controversy surrounding a brief suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! by Disney and ABC. After some comments Kimmel made about a particular commentator, there was a lot of outrage and even calls for people to cancel their subscriptions. So, it’s a bit of a tumultuous time in the world of streaming entertainment. Be sure to stay tuned for any further updates on these developments!
