Art Alum Creates Designs for Cartoon Network, Netflix, and Warner Bros.

Growing up watching animated films, Cristina Zuniga was captivated by the magic of storytelling and animation. Influenced by her family of artists and inspired by iconic animation styles, she pursued her dreams by studying at Cal State Fullerton.

After earning her BFA in art-entertainment art/animation, Zuniga landed a role as a background designer and supervisor on the popular show “We Baby Bears” at Cartoon Network Studios. Her talent also led her to work on projects for Netflix, Warner Bros. Animation, and other animated series.

During her time at CSUF, Zuniga honed her skills and expanded her network through the Women in Animation club. Serving as vice president, she connected with industry professionals, developed her creative style, and gained valuable insights into the animation industry.

The Women in Animation club at CSUF has been a pivotal resource for students like Zuniga, providing opportunities, industry resources, and a supportive community. Through the club, students can engage with guest speakers, attend workshops, and network with like-minded individuals in the animation industry.

Zuniga’s success story is not unique, as other club alumni have gone on to pursue careers at DreamWorks Animation, secure scholarships, and land internships with top animation studios. The Women in Animation club continues to empower students and shape the future of animators at Cal State Fullerton.
