Peacock Is Officially the Best Streaming Service for Chucky Fans (But It’s Missing One Major Thing)
Peacock subscribers can now stream the Child’s Play franchise – but fans are still missing one major thing.

The Child’s Play franchise is one of the most iconic slasher franchises, ranking alongside other favorites like Halloween and Scream. Getting its start in 1988, the story of the killer doll Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif in the original films and Mark Hamill in the reboot, has become a pop culture phenomenon and spawned a total of seven sequels and a TV show. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to stream the franchise in one place, but Peacock just gave Child’s Play fans an early Halloween treat, with a bit of a twist.

Peacock subscribers can now stream nearly the entire Child’s Play franchise. Seven of the eight films – Child’s Play 2 (1990), Child’s Play 3 (1991), Bride of Chucky (1998), Seed of Chucky (2004), Curse of Chucky (2013), Cult of Chucky (2017), and Child’s Play (2019) – started streaming on the NBCUniversal platform on September 1st. The only film not streaming on Peacock is the original 1988 Child’s Play, which is available on MGM+, AMC+, and Philo. The franchise centers around fictional serial killer Charles Lee Ray, whose soul is transferred into a Good Guy doll, which he uses to embark on a bloody rampage.

Why You Should Watch the Child’s Play Franchise
If there’s any reason to watch the Child’s Play franchise, it has to be the fact that it’s ridiculously fun. The franchise tends to lean into the campy premise of the story, and the concept of a killer doll, whose outward innocent appearance starkly contrasts with his actions, containing the soul of a foul-mouthed serial killer makes Chucky a truly unique and entertaining villain that is far different from those seen in other slashers like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th. The franchise is a refreshing take on slashers that perfectly balances all of the terror and gore of the genre, including absurd and brutal kills, with dark humor and satire.

While some franchises become stagnant, the Child’s Play movies constantly evolve to incorporate modern technology and commentary, helping to keep the franchise relevant and the audience engaged. The franchise even evolved for the small screen in the series Chucky.
Other Horror Franchises Now on Peacock
September is a great month for horror lovers, as the NBCUniversal streamer is stocking titles from some of the most iconic horror franchises. In addition to Child’s Play, Peacock just added six of the Amityville Horror movies, several Universal Monsters films, and Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch. October is set to bring even more horror franchises to the platform, with titles from the Friday The 13th, Leprechaun, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Scream franchises joining Peacock.
September 2025 also brought several one-off titles, including 1408, The Birds, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, The Sixth Sense, Werewolf of London, and When a Stranger Calls.
