Amazon Prime Video to Join CBS and ESPN in Masters Coverage Starting in 2026

In a move that is sure to shake things up in the sports media world, the Masters golf event is teaming up with Amazon Prime Video starting in 2026. This exciting new partnership means that golf fans can enjoy two additional hours of coverage on Thursday and Friday of Masters week right on Prime Video.

The action kicks off from 1-3 p.m. (ET) on Prime Video, followed by ESPN’s broadcast from 3-7:30 p.m. (ET). And don’t worry, CBS will still be airing the Masters on Saturday and Sunday from 2-7 p.m. (ET), with live streaming on the CBS-affiliated Paramount+ streaming network from noon-2 p.m. (ET).

Amazon Prime Video has been making big moves in the world of live sports, including snagging the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football” rights starting in 2022 and adding NBA games this fall to their lineup. They also have streaming deals with the WNBA and NWSL, along with other sports rights around the world.

Thanks to the excitement surrounding Rory McIlroy’s storyline, the Masters Sunday in April saw nearly 13 million viewers tune in, a 33 percent increase from the previous year. It was the biggest TV audience for the event since 2018 and became Paramount+’s most-watched non-NFL sporting event.

Augusta National Golf Club chairman Fred Ridley expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership with Amazon, highlighting the longstanding relationships with CBS Sports and ESPN that have set a high standard for Masters coverage. The addition of Amazon is expected to enhance the presentation and enjoyment of the Tournament even further.

One interesting aspect of being a media partner with Augusta National is the club’s influence over the coverage tone and language used. This means that broadcasters understand and uphold the expectations set by Augusta National. It will be fascinating to see how Amazon approaches this unique dynamic and who they bring on board for on-air talent.
