Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Hulu Bernam, 41 People Evacuated to PPS in Malaysia

Heavy rain triggered floods in Hulu Bernam, causing 41 people from nine families to be evacuated to a temporary relief center. District Disaster Management Committee chairman Yuhanas Auree Kamarudin shared that the floods affected nine houses, along with nine cars, nine motorcycles, and two lorries. The evacuees include 13 men, 11 women, six senior citizens, eight children, two disabled persons, and a baby girl.

It all started in the early morning when the district operations control center received a call from the public reporting floods due to heavy rain since 2 am. The rising river water levels, reaching a dangerous 42.60 meters, prompted the evacuation. In response, three members of the Civil Defence Force (APM) and machinery were deployed for the operation.

Stay safe and take care during times of heavy rain to avoid such incidents.
