Star Trek 60th Anniversary Celebration: New Animated Series and More!

Star Trek is gearing up to mark its impressive 60th anniversary in 2026 with a host of new series, special collaborations, and events lined up throughout the year.

The celebration was announced on Star Trek Day, which falls on September 8, 2025. The milestone will shine a spotlight on six decades of cultural influence, beginning with a captivating Rose Parade float on New Year’s Day.

Kicking off the anniversary festivities on January 1, 2026, a custom-designed Star Trek float will enchant viewers at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. The float’s design will embody the franchise’s core themes of hope, inclusivity, exploration, and unity, while also generating buzz for the upcoming Paramount+ series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

Speaking of Starfleet Academy, the much-anticipated series is set to premiere in early 2026. The show will follow a new class of cadets as they navigate friendships, rivalries, and rigorous training under the watchful eyes of their demanding instructors. The star-studded cast includes Academy Award winner Holly Hunter as the Academy’s Chancellor and Captain of the U.S.S. Athena, alongside Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti portraying the season’s villain.

For fans eager for more Star Trek content, Paramount+ has confirmed seasons four and five of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds following the conclusion of its third season on September 11, 2025.

But that’s not all! Exciting partnerships and campaigns are on the horizon. A collaboration with DoSomething will focus on environmental impact projects in 2026. Plus, fans can look forward to the release of the first-ever Star Trek LEGO sets, as well as original Star Trek stories launching on Webtoon in 2026.

To add more fuel to the fire, two new Star Trek projects have already made their debut. Star Trek: Scouts is a preschool animated series on YouTube from Nickelodeon Digital Studio, while Star Trek: Khan is a scripted podcast chronicling Khan’s descent on Ceti Alpha V, with a star-studded voice cast delivering episodes weekly through November 3, 2025.

For die-hard Star Trek enthusiasts, mark your calendars for Star Trek: The Cruise 2026, running from February 20-27. This week-long fan event at sea will feature appearances by William Shatner, Walter Koenig, and more than 20 other actors.
