AEW All Out PPVs to be Streamed on HBO Max: Price and Viewing Details
AEW recently announced that they will be streaming their pay-per-view events on HBO Max, starting with All Out on Sept. 20. This is great news for U.S. based HBO Max subscribers, as they will be able to purchase the event for a reduced rate of $39.99, which is $10 cheaper than other platforms like Amazon Prime, YouTube, and traditional cable providers.
For those who are already HBO Max subscribers, this switch will end up saving them money compared to what they were previously paying for AEW PPVs. And for new subscribers, they can get access to all of HBO Max’s amazing content in addition to the pay-per-view event by opting for the lowest tier subscription.
If you decide to purchase the event on HBO Max, you’ll also have the benefit of being able to watch replays for up to six months after the live event. The press release from AEW states that the pay-per-view events will stream without any commercials on HBO Max, and all marketing efforts for the events will be focused on the HBO Max platform.
While this move doesn’t mean AEW’s pay-per-views will be exclusive to HBO Max, it’s likely that the pricing outside of the platform will remain higher since HBO Max’s monthly subscription fee is not subsidizing the cost. This decision comes on the heels of WWE moving their content to ESPN, with their pay-per-view events available without any additional charges. However, ESPN’s direct-to-consumer model comes at a cost of $25 a month, compared to HBO Max’s $10 a month subscription fee.
