SNL shake-up: Five new cast members announced after star’s exit
Saturday Night Live fans, get ready for a shake-up! Season 51 is right around the corner, and the iconic show is introducing five new faces to the cast. After promising some significant changes, boss Lorne Michaels is shaking things up by bidding farewell to four cast members and welcoming five fresh talents.
Last season, the SNL lineup included a stellar cast of comedians. But as the new season approaches, some familiar faces will be moving on. Emil Wakim, Devon Walker, and Michael Longfellow are saying goodbye to SNL ahead of Season 51.
But fear not, because there are exciting newcomers joining the SNL family. Ben Marshall, best known for his work with comedy group Please Don’t Destroy, will be officially joining the cast. Veronika Slowikowska, known for her hilarious internet sketches on Instagram, is also stepping into the spotlight.
Joining them are Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, and Kam Patterson. Brennan, a Comedy Cellar regular, recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Culhane, a rising star on Instagram and TikTok, has credits on several popular shows. Patterson, known for his work on Tony Hinchcliffe’s Kill Tony podcast, is also making his mark in the comedy world.
And don’t worry, James Austin Johnson will be back to continue his spot-on portrayal of President Donald Trump. But it’s not all hellos—there are some goodbyes too.
In the biggest departure news, fan-favorite Heidi Gardner will be leaving SNL after eight seasons. Known for her memorable characters and strong performances, Gardner has been a staple on the show. Another comedian bidding farewell is Devon Walker, who admitted that his time on SNL could be “sometimes toxic as hell.”
As SNL gears up for its 51st season, these changes promise an exciting new chapter for the iconic show. Stay tuned for more laughs, unforgettable characters, and fresh talent on Saturday nights with SNL.
