New September Streaming on Hulu: What to Watch
September is here, and that means new shows and movies are hitting Hulu just in time for those cozy fall evenings perfect for binge-watching. From returning favorites like “Only Murders in the Building” and “Reasonable Doubt” to exciting newcomers like “Chad Powers” and “Tempest,” there’s plenty to add to your watchlist this month.
First up, the beloved amateur detectives Charles, Oliver, and Mabel are back in Season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building.” This time, they’re on the case of their doorman’s suspicious death, uncovering secrets that connect to powerful billionaires and mobsters. With a talented cast including Emayatzy Corinealdi and McKinley Freeman, this season promises twists and turns. Premiere date: Sept. 18.
Looking for a darker story? Check out “The Lowdown,” a Tulsa noir series starring Ethan Hawke as Lee Raybon, a truth-seeking historian who uncovers a conspiracy after a suspicious suicide. With a stellar cast including Keith David and Kyle MacLachlan, this series promises mystery and intrigue. Premiering on Sept. 23 on FX and the following day on Hulu.
And for some comedy, “Chad Powers” follows QB Russ Holliday as he reinvents himself as South Georgia’s new QB after a career-ending mistake. Co-created by Glen Powell, this show stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, and Steve Zahn. Premiere date: Sept. 30.
On the movie front, check out “Blood & Myth,” a documentary based on James Dommek Jr.’s audiobook “Midnight Son,” exploring a series of violent crimes in Alaska. And don’t miss the adaptation of Walter Mosley’s novel “The Man in My Basement,” starring Corey Hawkins and Willem Dafoe in a twisted tale of strangers making a dark deal.
