Walmart to Challenge Amazon with Peacock as Video Partner
Walmart is ready to go head-to-head with Amazon Prime Video by revamping its subscription service and introducing a new feature called “Video Subscription Choice.” This move includes expanding its existing partnership with Paramount+ and bringing Peacock on board as a partner.
Starting soon, Walmart+ subscribers will have the option to select a complimentary subscription to either Peacock’s premium tier or Paramount+ essential plan. And here’s the best part – subscribers can switch between the two services every 90 days if they wish.
This exciting update also hints at the possibility of Walmart adding more streaming services as options in the future. According to Deepak Maini, senior VP of Walmart+, “The additional option of Peacock Premium adds even more value and more choice to our membership, without raising the price. By offering the ability to switch between two top-tier video streaming services, we’re empowering our members to customize their entertainment experience and enjoy significant savings. This is just one of the many ways we’re evolving Walmart+ to meet the needs and wants of today’s consumer.”
So, if you’re a Walmart+ subscriber, get ready to enjoy the flexibility and savings that come with choosing between Peacock and Paramount+ for your streaming entertainment needs. It’s a win-win for all the entertainment buffs out there!
