Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw – Streaming Soon on Disney+

A new addition to the “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” franchise is on its way to Disney+ later this year! At the Walt Disney Studios Showcase panel at the Destination D23 event in Orlando, Florida, Disney officially announced “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw.” This movie is adapted from the third book in Jeff Kinney’s bestselling series and follows the humorous misadventures of Greg Heffley as he navigates family challenges.

In “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw,” Greg faces pressure to meet his dad’s high expectations and must find a way to change his ways. With a mix of near-disasters and comedic moments, Greg’s dad gives him an ultimatum that could push Greg to step up and leave his wimpy ways behind.

Directed by Matt Danner and produced by Jeff Kinney, the film features the voices of Aaron D. Harris as Greg Heffley and Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Heffley. Jeff Kinney, the creator of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” also shared a special message for fans at the event, along with a sneak peek clip from the movie.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw” will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on December 5th, 2025. If you’re a fan of the series, mark your calendars! And don’t forget, you can catch up on the previous animated and live-action movies on Disney+ while you wait for the latest installment to arrive.
