Beloved canceled series finds new home on Netflix: Latest Updates

icked up a spinoff titled “S.W.A.T. Exiles,” starring Moore. While it initially seemed like Moore would be the only “S.W.A.T.” alum reprising his role in the new show, more OG cast members might be joining the project.

“There is a ‘S.W.A.T family,’ and that family is important. We would love to have other family members involved in some way, whether it’s all of them all of the time, some of them some of the time, or something in between,” Keith LeGoy, chairman of Sony Pictures Television, said at the Banff World Media Festival in June. “That’s something that we are still figuring out.”

It’s still unclear when “S.W.A.T. Exiles” will premiere and what network or streaming platform it will call home. Sony has ordered 10 episodes of the spinoff, and production reportedly began this summer. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Sony to bring ‘S.W.A.T. Exiles to life,” said Jason Ning, who will serve as showrunner. “It’s an incredible honor to carry forward the legacy of a show that fans around the world have come to love. Working with Shemar Moore, who defines what it means to be a leading man, and introducing a new generation of characters into this world is a dream.”

For those eager to catch up on the series before the new spinoff, seasons 1-7 of “S.W.A.T.” are currently streaming on Netflix. Season 8 will be available to stream beginning on September 15. So mark your calendars and get ready for more action-packed episodes!
