Hulu Orders Pilot for High School Mystery Series “Foster Dade” by Bash Doran and Greg Berlanti
Hulu is moving forward with a new drama project, “Foster Dade,” created by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran. The show, based on Nash Jenkins’ novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos,” has received a pilot order from the Disney-owned streamer. The project has been in development for a while and comes from Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti has an overall deal.
The series is described as a sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school. It delves into themes of privilege, scandal, sexuality, and masculinity in the midst of the rise of social media, millennial angst, and pharmaceuticals.
This project is significant as one of Berlanti’s first writing credits in several years. While he has produced numerous shows through his production company, his last writing credits date back to the early episodes of “You” in the late 2010s. Doran, on the other hand, is a two-time Writers Guild of America Award winner, with recognition for her work on “Beef” and “Boardwalk Empire.”
Keep an eye out for “Foster Dade” as it moves through production and onto our screens. It’s sure to be an intriguing addition to the world of streaming entertainment!
