Disney+ and ZDF Studios forge significant content partnership
Disney+ has some exciting news for all you entertainment lovers out there! They’ve just signed a big deal with ZDF Studios, a major player in the European broadcasting world. This means that Disney+ subscribers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are in for a treat. By the end of the year, they’ll have access to over 3,000 episodes and films from ZDF’s impressive library.
Starting on August 27, a carefully curated collection called ZDF Films and Series will be included in the standard Disney+ subscription. This partnership is a big step for Disney+, showing their dedication to providing high-quality, culturally relevant content to audiences in Europe. Karl Holmes, the General Manager of Disney+ in EMEA, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and the chance to offer even more local content to viewers in the region.
What can you expect from this new collection? Well, get ready for some beloved German-language series like SOKO, München Mord, Nord Nord Mord, Marie Brand, and Wilsberg, as well as family-friendly shows and thrilling crime dramas. Plus, new seasons of ZDF shows will be added to Disney+ shortly after they air on traditional TV, giving subscribers quick access to fresh content.
This exciting development builds on Disney+’s commitment to producing original content in Europe, including popular shows like Interpreter of Silence, Sam – A Saxon, and the upcoming Call My Agent Berlin. It also follows previous partnerships with ZDF Studios that brought fan-favorite titles like Der Bergdoktor and Die Bergretter to the platform.
And this isn’t the only collaboration Disney+ has been working on. Just earlier this year, they struck a deal with ITV to share curated selections of each other’s content on their respective platforms. So, it’s clear that Disney+ is all about building bridges with major European broadcasters to bring viewers the best in entertainment. Get ready to dive into a world of amazing shows and films coming your way soon!
