Bobby Berk Announces New Show Following ‘Queer Eye’ Finale

Bobby Berk recently made headlines when he announced his new show on HGTV shortly after Netflix revealed that Queer Eye would be ending with its upcoming 10th season. Berk was a prominent member of the Fab Five on the rebooted series, serving as the design expert for seasons one through eight before departing ahead of season nine. Now, he’s gearing up to star in a new series called Junk or Jackpot? on HGTV.

Addressing the timing of his announcement, Berk clarified that the show reveal was planned well in advance. Show announcements, he emphasized, don’t just happen on a whim. Even one of his former Queer Eye co-stars chimed in, expressing surprise at the timing. Berk assured everyone that the announcement date for his new show was set and not related to Netflix’s announcement about Queer Eye.

Reflecting on his time on Queer Eye, Berk mentioned that Netflix could have given him a heads-up about the timing of their announcement, given that he had been a part of the show for eight seasons. Despite the unexpected overlap in announcements, Berk is taking it all in stride.

After Berk’s departure, Jeremiah Brent took up the mantle as the Fab Five’s design expert. When asked about stepping into Berk’s shoes, Brent shared that he didn’t feel pressured to replicate Berk’s style or the original Queer Eye series. Instead, he approached the role with his own unique perspective and expertise.
