Blade Runner 2099 Premiering on Prime Video in 2026

Get ready, sci-fi fans! The highly anticipated Blade Runner 2099, a limited series that continues the story from Blade Runner 2049, is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2026. The announcement came from Laura Lancaster, Head of US SVOD TV Development and Series – Co-Productions at Amazon MGM Studios, as part of an internal memo celebrating the promotions of executives Kara Smith and Tom Lieber.

Initially approved back in September 2022, the series features the talented Michelle Yeoh in a leading role. Unfortunately, production faced a setback due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023, causing a delay of almost a year. But fear not, Blade Runner 2099 is currently in post-production and aiming for a late 2025 or early 2026 debut.

Joining Yeoh in the cast are Hunter Schafer, Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, and more. Behind the scenes, the show is in good hands with Silka Luisa as the showrunner and executive producer, alongside a stellar lineup of producers and directors including Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Ridley Scott, and more.

So mark your calendars, set your reminders, and get ready to dive back into the futuristic world of Blade Runner when Blade Runner 2099 hits Prime Video in 2026. Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all the latest news.
