Chris Parnell appointed Executive VP of Paramount+ Originals
Paramount+ is expanding its team with a new addition from Apple TV+. Chris Parnell, who previously worked as a senior creative executive at Apple TV+, has been named the executive VP of Paramount+ originals. In his new role, Parnell will be responsible for overseeing the development and production of original content for the streaming platform.
Reporting to Jane Wiseman, the head of originals at Paramount+, Parnell is joining the team led by Cindy Holland, the chair of direct-to-consumer at Paramount. This move comes shortly after Wiseman’s addition to the team just two weeks ago.
Parnell brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked on various titles during his time at Apple TV+, including Dark Matter, Neuromancer, Bad Monkey, The Last Frontier, and the upcoming sci-fi drama Pluribus created by Vince Gilligan. Prior to his stint at Apple, Parnell spent almost two decades at Sony Pictures Television, where he eventually rose to the position of co-president. During his time at Sony, he worked on developing hit shows like Outlander, The Boys, Better Call Saul, and For All Mankind.
This new addition to the Paramount+ team highlights the streaming platform’s commitment to delivering high-quality original content to its viewers. With Parnell at the helm of Paramount+ originals, viewers can expect exciting new projects coming their way in the future.
