“The Paper” Office Spinoff to Stream on Peacock: Binge Release Date
Peacock is shaking things up for its upcoming show, “The Paper,” the highly anticipated follow-up to “The Office.” Originally planned for a staggered release over a few weeks in September, the streaming service has announced that the entire 10-episode season will drop all at once on Sept. 4.
Initially, fans expected the first four episodes to premiere on the release day, followed by two episodes per week until September 25th. But after receiving positive feedback from early viewers (though we’re not allowed to spill all the juicy details until closer to the premiere date), Peacock, Universal Television, and the show’s producers decided to change course and offer a binge-release format.
By releasing the entire season at once, audiences get to feast on the full “Paper” experience several weeks before the usual TV season brings a flood of new premieres. Set in the same universe as “The Office,” “The Paper” follows Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, who finds himself as the new editor of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a struggling Ohio newspaper.
The star-studded cast includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez, reprising his role from “The Office.” The series also features appearances from Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts. Get ready for binge-watching bliss on September 4th!
