Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison for Criminal Sexual Conduct in Pine County
A man from Geneva, Iowa, named Richard Dixon Peacock, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the sexual assault of a minor in Hinckley. The incident took place on December 21, 2024, at a hotel in Hinckley after initial contact on the app “Discord.” This story began with an 11-year-old girl communicating with Peacock, who identified himself as a 27-year-old named Richard.
According to the criminal complaint, Peacock picked up the minor near her home, took her to a movie in Hinckley, and then to a hotel where the abuse occurred. Law enforcement investigators discovered communication dating back to November 29, 2024, on the minor’s LG tablet. Peacock had sent photos of himself to the minor, which were saved in their conversations.
Investigators were able to corroborate the victim’s account by obtaining video footage from the movie theater, showing Peacock and the minor purchasing tickets and sitting together in the theater. Additionally, the hotel confirmed that Peacock was registered there, with the vehicle linked to him and his listed address in Geneva, Iowa.
Following a nationwide pursuit and capture, the case resulted in Peacock’s arrest and eventual sentencing by a Pine County judge. It serves as a grave reminder of the dangers of online interactions and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly minors, in digital spaces.
