Paramount+ announces Season 2 premiere date for Taylor Sheridan’s show ‘Landman’
West Texas oil drama Landman is making a comeback with its second season premiering on Nov. 16, as announced by Paramount+ recently. The show, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and based on the Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown, follows the story of Tommy Norris (played by Billy Bob Thornton), a resilient oil industry problem-solver who navigates a series of challenges in the business. Fans can expect to see familiar faces in the upcoming season, with Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, and the iconic Sam Elliott joining the cast. Thornton’s performance in Season 1 earned him a Golden Globe nomination, adding to the excitement surrounding the show’s return.
Season 2 of Landman will be part of Sheridan’s lineup of shows this fall, alongside Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown. Sheridan, hailing from Fort Worth, has been increasingly filming his projects in North Texas, adding a local touch to his storytelling. For example, Landman drew attention when scenes were shot at the popular restaurant Mister Charles in Dallas. This local tie is further solidified by Sheridan’s recent venture into a 450,000-square-foot studio project at Hillwood’s AllianceTexas development in Fort Worth, in collaboration with Paramount Pictures and SGS Studios.
Sheridan, in a statement about the studio initiative, highlighted Texas as a unique space that fosters creativity and storytelling. The new studio will serve as a hub for filming shows like Landman and spinoffs of Yellowstone. With Sheridan’s signature touch evident in the upcoming fall slate of Paramount+, including Landman, fans can expect an exciting lineup of entertainment coming their way.
