Highly-Anticipated Horror Release Premieres on Hulu 2025

One of this year’s most anticipated horror releases has just premiered on Hulu, and fans of the iconic sci-fi horror franchise are in for a treat. Back in 1979, director Ridley Scott and writers Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett introduced us to the fearless heroine Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, and a new kind of space terror that would go on to become one of the biggest sci-fi horror franchises in history. Fast forward to 2025, and we now have FX’s prequel series, Alien: Earth, which has just made its debut and is already receiving rave reviews.

The series is set in the year 2120 and takes place on Earth, a planet governed by five mega-corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. This era features a fascinating mix of cyborgs, synthetics, and a new technological advancement: hybrids, which are humanoid robots infused with human consciousness. The show follows the protagonist, Wendy, played by Sydney Chandler, who is the first hybrid prototype created from the mind of a terminally ill young girl. Wendy is joined by a group of hybrid beings known as the “Lost Boys,” youngsters whose consciousness has been transferred into adult android bodies. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a Weyland-Yutani research vessel carrying dangerous alien lifeforms crashes in a city owned by Prodigy.

Alien: Earth has managed to captivate audiences by blending character development, world-building, and thrilling action-horror sequences seamlessly across its eight-episode run. The show’s impressive production values, including set pieces, costumes, creatures, and visual effects, give it a cinematic feel that fans of the franchise will appreciate. While some subplots might not carry the same weight as others, the series keeps viewers engaged by focusing on the impending dangers faced by the characters and keeping the pace steady.

The talented cast of Alien: Earth includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, and many more, with the series executive produced by Ridley Scott. New episodes of Alien: Earth are set to air on FX every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET and are available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+. So grab your popcorn, settle in, and immerse yourself in the thrilling world of Alien: Earth as the season unfolds, with the season finale scheduled to drop on September 23rd.

For fans of the Alien movie franchise, you can catch up on all the extraterrestrial action by streaming the films on Hulu and Disney+. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise or new to the world of Alien, Alien: Earth promises to deliver an exciting and engaging sci-fi horror experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
