Disney Entertainment Marketing Reorganization: Asad Ayaz, Shannon Ryan Now in Charge
Disney Entertainment is making some changes in its marketing division! Asad Ayaz and Shannon Ryan are taking on new roles. Ayaz, the chief brand officer for The Walt Disney Co., is now also the president of Disney Entertainment Marketing. He’ll be in charge of marketing for Disney’s studios and TV and streaming outlets. And get this—he’ll also lead brand strategy under CEO Bob Iger, which includes the in-house agencies for Disney Experiences and Disney Entertainment. Pretty big deal!
Meanwhile, Shannon Ryan, who currently heads TV marketing, is adding direct-to-consumer to her plate. She’ll now be the president of DTC and Disney Entertainment Television Marketing. The teams for Disney+ and Hulu will be part of her unified team, with Samantha Rosenberg and Barrie Gruner leading the charge at Disney+ and Hulu respectively.
These changes come as Hulu gets fully integrated into Disney+ next year. Ryan will report to Ayaz and remain on Walden’s leadership team. The big bosses, Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, sent out a memo to the staff expressing their confidence in the team’s talent and the exciting things ahead. They appreciate the creativity, passion, and teamwork as they shape the future of Disney Entertainment together.
Ayaz, a seasoned Disney veteran with 20 years under his belt, is no stranger to leading successful marketing efforts. It’ll be interesting to see where this new direction takes Disney Entertainment!
