William H. Macy to Star in Dan Fogelman’s Hulu NFL Drama Series
Veteran actor William H. Macy is set to star in Dan Fogelman’s upcoming NFL drama series on Hulu. Macy will be playing Hank Durkin, the owner of the football team central to the show, alongside Christopher Meloni, who is slated to portray the team’s head coach.
While specific details and the official logline are still a mystery, what we do know is that the series will be set in the world of the NFL and will explore generational family dynamics. Exciting stuff, right?
The yet-to-be-titled series received a green light from Hulu back in October 2024, with Meloni’s casting announcement following in July. Fogelman, known for his work on “This Is Us,” is both writing and executive producing the show, which is a collaboration between 20th Television and Skydance Sports.
Joining Fogelman in the executive producer role is Jess Rosenthal, who has a history of successful collaborations with him on past projects. Additionally, David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed are on board as executive producers for Skydance Sports, ensuring a strong team behind the series.
Fans of Macy will recognize him from his role as Frank Gallagher in “Shameless,” which earned him numerous award nominations and wins. His film credits include memorable performances in “Fargo,” “Boogie Nights,” “Magnolia,” and more.
Excitement is building for Macy’s new role, and we can’t wait to see him in action in this highly-anticipated series. Stay tuned for more updates as production progresses!
