Marvel Thunderbolts Disney+ Release Date: Everything You Need to Know
Scenes Explained
Marvel Studios has been bringing us superhero movies for almost two decades, kicking off with Iron Man in 2008. Fans have fallen in love with classic superheroes like Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange through the 37 films released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with eight more in the works.
But on May 2, Marvel took a different turn by introducing us to antiheroes in Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. Starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, and David Harbour, the film follows a group of unlikely allies brought together by a common threat, forcing them to confront their pasts.
Unfortunately, Thunderbolts* didn’t perform as well at the box office as Marvel had hoped. With global earnings under $400 million, it falls among the lowest-grossing Marvel films. However, there is hope for the film’s success as other recent releases have seen better numbers on Disney+ than in theaters.
Now, over 100 days after its theater release, fans are eagerly anticipating Thunderbolts*’ arrival on Disney+. According to a Greek Disney+ ad, the film is set to start streaming on August 27th. While this date has not been officially confirmed by Disney, it gives fans hope of enjoying the movie soon from the comfort of their homes.
Despite its financial performance, Thunderbolts* has received high praise from audiences, scoring an impressive 93% rating. This puts it right behind Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) with a 94% rating, highlighting its popularity among fans.
As we wait for the Disney+ premiere of Thunderbolts*, fans can share their thoughts on the film and its place among the Marvel movies. Did you catch it in theaters? How does it stack up for you compared to other Marvel films? Let us know in the comments!
