Why You Should Watch ‘War of the Worlds’ on Amazon Prime Video

You’ve probably heard about the latest War of the Worlds adaptation on Amazon Prime Video, and let me tell you, it’s not your typical sci-fi movie. In fact, it’s so bad that it’s actually good. Yes, you read that right.

This version, which is about the 11th retelling of the HG Wells classic, features Ice Cube as a security expert trying to track a hacker while aliens invade the planet. The whole movie unfolds on Ice Cube’s computer screen, complete with his hilarious reactions to the chaos. And yes, there’s even a twist involving a lockdown that keeps him glued to his seat.

The special effects may not be top-notch, and the rest of the cast, including familiar faces like Eva Longoria and Clark Gregg, seem to be phoning it in. But trust me, it’s all part of the charm. Plus, there’s plenty of product placement for tech brands like Amazon, which somehow becomes central to the plot by the end.

Some critics have called this movie one of the worst ever made, and I can see why. It’s being compared to cult classics like The Room, but with recognizable actors like Ice Cube. And despite a lone positive review on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s safe to say that this movie is indeed a unique experience that you won’t want to miss.

I can’t help but wonder how this movie came to be, and I’m hoping for a behind-the-scenes look at its creation. Until then, I recommend watching it with a group of open-minded friends who can appreciate its absurdity. Who knows, you might just end up enjoying the ride.
