Malinowski shines in latest Netflix show
Teams of two are diving deep to photograph sharks in Netflix’s new reality show “All the Sharks.” The show is perfect for kids, following adventurers as they search for the rarest shark species around the world.
Chris Malinowski, a marine biologist hailing from Brillion, is one of the competitors. Growing up in a small town, Malinowski’s childhood was filled with curiosity and exploration. While there may not have been an ocean nearby, his passion for marine life was sparked by fishing in local ponds and lakes, camping trips, and visits to the Great Lakes.
After pursuing degrees in marine biology, Malinowski now works as the Director of Research and Conservation in Key Largo, Florida. His journey into the field wasn’t straightforward, but it was his unwavering curiosity and passion that led him to where he is today.
When approached to join “All the Sharks,” Malinowski was initially hesitant. With sharks often sensationalized in the media, he took some convincing before realizing the show’s potential for combining education with entertainment. Partnering with Brendan Talwar, another marine expert, Malinowski embarked on a thrilling adventure to showcase the diversity of shark species worldwide.
The show, which premiered on July 4, has already caught the attention of viewers in the area. With Malinowski and Talwar as the only contestants with PhDs, their expertise adds another layer of excitement to the competition. The duo competes for shark-shaped trophies and a $50,000 charity award for nonprofits, making their quest even more meaningful.
“All the Sharks” is not just a show for thrill-seekers; it’s a celebration of marine life and the importance of conservation. Malinowski’s passion for the ocean shines through as he strives to educate and inspire others to appreciate the beauty and significance of our marine ecosystems.
