Glendale City Council reconvenes for workshop

The Glendale City Council is back from their summer break and diving right into a busy workshop, with a quick voting meeting scheduled for Aug. 12. Three out of the four agenda items are focused on current ordinances or potential new ones.

One big topic of discussion is the lack of regulations in the Glendale City Code for e-bikes and e-scooters, apart from a few mentions in the parks code. Council members will be talking about the possibility of adopting an ordinance that defines these bikes and scooters, as well as restricting where they can be ridden and setting a minimum age requirement for riders.

On a lighter note, peacocks and peahens that are descendants from the original birds brought to Sahuaro Ranch in 1933 still roam the park, adding a touch of nature to the city.
