Disney+ Announces Two New Shows, Including ‘Cars’ Series

Disney+ just dropped some major news about two new shows that will soon be hitting the platform. During the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play!” fan event at Disney California Adventure, Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, spilled the beans on what we can expect.

Fans of Lightning McQueen and the gang will be thrilled to hear about the upcoming series, “Cars: Lightning Racers,” inspired by Disney Pixar’s beloved Cars movie. This new show will follow Lightning McQueen’s adventures in Radiator Springs, alongside his trusty sidekick, Mater, and some fresh faces in town like Pipes, a daring drag car, and Miles, a monster truck who loves the mud. What’s even more exciting is that some of the original movie cast members are returning to voice their iconic characters, including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy as Mater.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Disney+ also announced a first-of-its-kind preschool series called “Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends.” This show will feature kid versions of our favorite Avengers like Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, teaming up to take on super villains. The series will be a collaboration between Disney Jr. and Marvel Studios, bringing the epic world of superheroes to a whole new audience.

In addition to these two shows, fans can look forward to two 22-minute Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up! specials, set to premiere on October 16th. With all this exciting content on the horizon, it’s safe to say that Disney+ is keeping its audience entertained and eager for more!
