Peacock Releases Official Trailer for “The Paper” Spinoff: A Preview of “The Office”

The Paper, premiering on September 4th, follows the original documentary crew as they shift their focus to a struggling Midwestern newspaper.

This mockumentary-style comedy is brought to you by the creators of The Office, Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. Leading the cast is Domhnall Gleeson, known for his roles in Ex Machina and About Time. But don’t expect a carbon copy of The Office— while the familiar documentary style remains, The Paper offers a fresh take with new characters and a different setting.

Joining Gleeson in the cast are Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez. Plus, keep an eye out for guest stars Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan.

The show, produced by Universal Television, features some heavy-hitters as executive producers, including Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. With a lineup of talented directors for the first season, including names like Ken Kwapis and Jennifer Celotta, The Paper promises to deliver laughs and a fresh perspective on the world of a struggling newspaper.

So mark your calendars for September 4th and get ready for a fun ride with The Paper on Peacock!
