New Trailer Reveals ‘The Paper’ – ‘The Office’ Spinoff in a Newsroom
NBC’s new show “The Paper” is set to premiere on Peacock on September 4th and offers a fresh spinoff from “The Office.” The show follows Domhnall Gleeson’s character, Ned Sampson, as he takes on the task of reviving a failing Midwest newspaper.
In the trailer, we see Ned facing a newsroom filled with lazy workers and untrained journalists. He acknowledges that the paper sucks, but he’s determined to turn things around. With the help of writers and volunteers who may not have much experience beyond texting and tweeting, Ned is ready to make a positive change.
The series, co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, is executive produced by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas. The first season will kick off with four episodes, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through September 25.
Fans of “The Office” will be delighted to see Oscar Nuñez reprising his role as Oscar Martinez in “The Paper.” However, he’s not too thrilled about being filmed for a documentary once again.
Overall, “The Paper” promises to bring humor and heart to the world of journalism, and we can’t wait to see how Ned and his team navigate the challenges of the newsroom. Get ready to tune in on Peacock this fall for this exciting new series!
