South Park Leaving HBO Max for New Streaming Home
‘South Park’ fans, get ready to shift your binge-watching plans! The long-running animated series is saying goodbye to HBO Max and making a move to a new streaming home. As of Wednesday, August 5th, all 26 seasons of this iconic Comedy Central show will be leaving HBO Max for good.
If you’ve been enjoying watching Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and the gang stir up trouble on HBO Max, you only have a limited time left to catch up on all the hilarity. But don’t worry, there’s a silver lining to this streaming shake-up. Paramount Network has secured an exclusive five-year licensing deal with Park County, the production company behind ‘South Park,’ founded by creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. This means that the beloved show will now be making its home on Paramount+.
For those of you who have been following ‘South Park’ since its debut in 1997, you know that this satirical comedy is no stranger to controversy. The recent episode titled “Sermon on the Mount” has caused quite a stir, featuring a scene with President Donald Trump snuggled up in bed with Satan. Despite the White House calling the show “fourth-rate” and criticizing its relevance, the episode has become the most-watched season premiere since 1999, boasting a 68% increase in viewership from the previous season premiere.
So, where can you catch up on all the ‘South Park’ shenanigans now? Luckily, all seasons of the show, including the upcoming 27th season, are available to stream on Paramount+. New episodes will also be added to the platform the day after they air on Comedy Central.
If you’re anxiously waiting for the latest ‘South Park’ episode to drop, mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 6th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. And if you happen to miss the premiere, don’t worry! You can catch it on Paramount+ the following day at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT.
Get ready for more outrageous adventures and laughs with Cartman and the gang on their new streaming platform. Happy watching!
