Big 12 Men’s Basketball Secures New Sublicensing Deal

Peacock is expanding its sports lineup with some exciting news for basketball fans. NBC Sports recently announced a new deal to bring 20 Big 12 men’s basketball games to its Peacock streaming service each year, starting this fall. Both intra-conference and non-conference matchups will be included in these games, all produced by NBC Sports.

According to a report by Sports Business Journal’s Ben Portnoy, NBC acquired the rights to broadcast these Big 12 games through a sublicensing agreement with Fox Sports. This means that more than 60 Big 12 men’s basketball games will now be available on various platforms beyond ESPN and Fox Sports. You can catch these games on a total of eight outlets, including ESPN, ABC, FOX, FS1, CBS, CBSSN, TNT, and Peacock.

The addition of Big 12 men’s basketball games joins the Big East and Big Ten games already available on Peacock, making it a go-to streaming service for college basketball fans. NBC Sports promises to broadcast nearly 200 men’s and women’s basketball games this upcoming season, providing plenty of hoops action for viewers.

Peacock is not just stopping at college basketball. The streaming service will also feature a new NBA package with regular-season and playoff games, an exclusive NFL game, and more. Despite a recent price increase, you can still access Peacock through select cable packages, such as Charter’s Spectrum TV Select. Additionally, there are talks about a new NBC sports cable network that could carry exclusive Peacock game content as early as this fall. Exciting times are ahead for sports fans!
