ATEEZ, Itzy, and STAYC Highlighted in Apple TV+ Series ‘KPOPPED’
“Kpopped,” the new K-pop-centric unscripted series on Apple TV+, is set to make waves. Premiering later this month, the show is breaking new ground by bringing together Western chart-toppers with K-pop and J-pop acts for a collaborative stage experience. With K-pop icon Psy and Grammy Award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion at the helm, and comedian Soojeong Son as the host, the series promises to be a unique and exciting blend of musical genres.
Participating K-pop groups include Ateez, Billlie, Itzy, Kep1er, JO1, STAYC, Kiss of Life, and Blackswan, with J-pop group JO1 also taking part. Western artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Mel B and Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls, as well as Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne, Kesha, and more are set to join the K-pop stars for one-of-a-kind performances.
In addition to these epic collaborations, “Kpopped” will feature a competitive element where Western chart-toppers team up with K-pop groups to reimagine their biggest hits. Each episode culminates in electrifying stage performances where the audience in Seoul votes for the standout “K-popped” performance. The show promises to be a celebration of music and cultural exchange, showcasing the talents of both Western and K-pop artists in a whole new light.
