WBAL-TV: Thank you for joining us today. Can you all introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about your characters in “My Oxford Year”? Cast: 1. Haley Bennett (playing Ella) Hi, I’m Haley Bennett and I play Ella in “My Oxford Year”. Ella is a brilliant young woman who receives a scholarship to study at Oxford University. She’s ambitious, hardworking, and determined to make the most of this opportunity. 2. Sam Heughan (playing Jamie) I’m Sam Heughan and I play Jamie in the series. Jamie is a charming and charismatic professor at Oxford who crosses paths with Ella. He’s confident, passionate about his work, and has a mysterious past that adds depth to his character. 3. Emma Roberts (playing Lucy) I’m Emma Roberts and I play Lucy, Ella’s best friend and roommate in Oxford. Lucy is a fun and supportive friend who always has Ella’s back. She brings humor and light-heartedness to the story. WBAL-TV: What drew you to these roles and what do you hope viewers will take away from the series? Haley Bennett: I was drawn to Ella’s character because she is a strong and independent woman who is not afraid to chase her dreams. I hope viewers will be inspired by her determination and resilience as she navigates the challenges of studying abroad in a new country. Sam Heughan: I was intrigued by Jamie’s complex personality and the dynamic between him and Ella. I hope viewers will be captivated by their evolving relationship and the emotional journey they embark on together. Emma Roberts: I loved the camaraderie between Ella and Lucy, and the bond of friendship that sustains them through their time at Oxford. I hope viewers will appreciate the importance of having supportive friends in our lives and the joy that comes from sharing experiences with others. WBAL-TV: Lastly, what was it like filming in such a picturesque setting like Oxford, and do you have any memorable moments from set that you can share with us? Haley Bennett: Filming in Oxford was a dream come true. The historical architecture and beautiful landscapes made for a stunning backdrop for our story. One of my favorite moments was filming a scene in front of the Bodleian Library, which is such an iconic location in Oxford. Sam Heughan: Oxford has a magical quality that added an extra layer of authenticity to our performances. One of my memorable moments was shooting a scene in a quaint pub in the city centre, surrounded by locals who were so welcoming and supportive of our production. Emma Roberts: The charm and elegance of Oxford really brought the story to life and created a sense of immersion for us as actors. One of my favorite moments was filming a scene on a punt boat on the River Thames, with the sun setting behind us and creating a breathtaking scene that I’ll never forget.
