Peacock Subscriber Numbers Remain Stable at 41 Million in Q2

Comcast recently shared some insights about Peacock’s subscriber numbers in their second quarter earnings report. It looks like the service’s subscriber growth has hit a bit of a plateau, staying steady at 41 million, the same as the previous quarter. But there’s some good news too! Peacock’s quarterly losses improved from $215 million to $101 million in the last quarter, with revenue hitting $1.2 billion.

During the earnings call, Comcast President Mike Cavanagh talked about the recent price increase for Peacock. They’ve bumped up the price by $3, starting with new subscribers in July and existing ones in late August. Cavanagh mentioned that this price adjustment, along with some promising upfront results, will help as Peacock gears up for the fourth quarter. This includes launching NBA coverage and taking on higher sports program costs, especially in the first year of the NBA contract.

So, what does this mean for you as a Peacock user? The price for Peacock Premium will go up by $3 to $10.99 per month, and Premium Plus will be $16.99 per month. If you prefer an annual plan, Premium will cost $109.99 per year and Premium Plus will be $169.99 per year. But wait, there’s more! Peacock is testing a new tier called Select, priced at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. This tier will give you access to current seasons of NBC and Bravo shows, along with a library of on-demand content.

It’s always good to stay informed about changes like these, especially when it comes to your streaming services. Keep an eye out for updates from Peacock as they continue to evolve and offer new options for viewers like you.
