Booster Gold Series Pilot Officially Greenlit by HBO Max

Back in 2022, DC fans were thrilled to hear that Peter Safran and James Gunn would be leading a new DC universe and that Booster Gold would be getting his own TV series. It was even confirmed by Gunn that Booster Gold was the most requested character for a film adaptation! Since then, there have been a lot of talks and rumors about casting choices like Chris Pratt, Antony Starr, and Kumail Nanjiani. However, nothing concrete has materialized. But now, Deadline reports that things are finally moving forward!

HBO Max has given the green light for a pilot episode of the Booster Gold series, with David Jenkins (known for “Our Flag Means Death”) as the screenwriter and showrunner. If the pilot episode is well-received, we might even get a full season of Booster Gold on our screens! For those who might not be familiar, Booster Gold is a sports star from the year 2442 who time-travels to our era using museum technology to become a well-known hero. His character is known for his humor, self-deprecation, and a unique blend of ego and heart that has made him a fan-favorite.

We can only hope that with this progress, casting announcements will follow soon, giving us the chance to find out who will step into the shoes of Booster Gold in this exciting new series. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling new addition to the DC universe!
