Peacock Increases Price by $3, Surpassing Competitors in Cost
Peacock just made a big announcement that may impact your streaming subscriptions. The popular service is increasing prices for both of its main plans starting July 23, so if you’ve been on the fence about subscribing, you might want to jump in before the rates go up.
The ad-supported plan, known as Peacock Premium, will now cost $10.99 per month, up from $7.99. Meanwhile, the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus plan is increasing to $16.99 per month, up from $13.99. This means that Peacock Premium will now be more expensive than Apple TV+ and other popular ad-supported services like Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, and Paramount+.
While the Premium Plus plan remains cheaper than some other ad-free options, the increase may hint at more price hikes in the streaming industry. This move could be in anticipation of the NFL’s return in September and other fall programming.
