New ‘Peanuts’ Musical Coming to Apple TV+ in August: First in 37 Years

Get ready to join Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the whole gang at summer camp in an all-new animated musical special! Marking the first “Peanuts” musical in over 30 years, “Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical” is set to premiere on August 15th exclusively on Apple TV+.

This 40-minute special will feature original music composed by Jeff Morrow and the talented singer, songwriter, and composer Ben Folds, best known for his work with the ’90s rock group Ben Folds Five. Morrow has previously lent his musical talents to Apple TV+ series like “Snoopy in Space” and “The Snoopy Show,” as well as various animated “Peanuts” specials. Folds, on the other hand, wrote the Emmy Award-nominated song for the 2022 special “Snoopy Presents: It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown.”

In this exciting new adventure, Charlie Brown strives to make his last year at summer camp unforgettable, while Snoopy and Woodstock embark on their own treasure hunt after stumbling upon a mysterious map. When the gang learns that their beloved camp is in danger of closing, they band together to save it by putting on a special concert.

The last “Peanuts” musical, “Snoopy: The Musical,” was released back in 1988, making this upcoming special a highly anticipated return to musical storytelling for fans of the iconic franchise. As we gear up to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz on October 2, 1950, Apple TV+ remains the exclusive streaming destination for all things “Peanuts” thanks to its partnership with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.
